Q. Do Club Derry committee members claim expenses?
A. No. All Committee Members are dedicated individuals who give of their time willingly without seeking or getting any monetary reward. These individuals are solely concerned with ensuring we have a growing organisation, ongoing fundraising activities and sound and transparent administration procedures within Club Derry. No travel expenses or subsistence claims of any kind are made or paid.
Q. How are Club Derry funds held and distributed?
A. All monies received from Club Derry Members or raised through Club Derry Fundraising activities are lodged into a dedicated Club Derry Bank Account. The distribution of these monies is then agreed with the Club Derry Committee in accordance with our Constitution.
Since our inception, funds have been used for to subsidise County Board spending in areas such as underage coaching and development as well as improving facilities at our leading centre of excellence at Owenbeg
Q. How can I join Club Derry?
A. Hopefully as you are on our website, you'll have seen the online facility. This is a simple process for you the prospective member. Simply fill in your details, including your payment option (monthly, quarterly etc), and not forgetting your jacket size! We will take care of rest. We will contact you to complete your registration and welcome you into Cumann Dhoire. Alternatively you can download and fill in a mandate form from our site or contact any committee member who will be more than willing to help.
Q. Are Club Derry accounts audited?
A. Yes. As a separate designated charity this is in fact a legal requirement
Q. Can people currently resident overseas join Club Derry?
A. Yes. We have procedures and mechanisms in place to deal with this. You can go through the online process as per non-overseas, selecting other on the payment option, and we will help you through the process.
Q. How much has Club Derry raised?
A. £530,000 to Sept 2008.
Q. How many members are there?
A. There are currently 251 members in Club Derry.
Q. If I join Club Derry, can I purchase match tickets direct from Owenbeg?
A. Where Derry are involved in all-ticket games, members are be invited to purchase 2 tickets. This can be done by contacting Owenbeg direct or any Club Derry Committee member.
